Denis Karagodin

Denis Karagodin stands near the former NKVD execution prison on Kashtachnaya Hill in Tomsk, a site of mass executions during the Great Terror of 1937–1938. In his hands he holds the execution record of his relative, Stepan Karagodin, which lists the officials responsible for carrying out the shooting. For many years it was widely asserted that such a document did not exist and could not be found. Its discovery reflects both the investigative framework developed by Denis Karagodin and the persistence behind the KARAGODIN® Investigation project.
